The Kpedudo Institute of Performing Arts, Dzogadze (KIPAD) is thrilled to announce its official inauguration on Thursday, December 17, 2026. This momentous event will mark a significant milestone in KIPAD's mission to support, sustain, and strengthen the transmission of indigenous African expressive arts.
The new facility, strategically located in the heart of the community of Dzogadze, will serve as a dedicated hub for cultural education, artistic development, and community engagement. This expansion reflects KIPAD's growing commitment to providing an unparalleled environment for the study and practice of traditional Ghanaian music, dance and vocational skills.
Founding Director Azagunua, Vodzi O.J. Torgboh (PhD) expressed his excitement: "This new home for KIPAD is a dream realized. It will allow us to deepen our impact, offering enhanced learning spaces for our young students and a more robust platform for cultural exchange. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating this pivotal moment for the arts in Ghana and for our global community."
The inauguration ceremony will feature special performances, cultural demonstrations. Further details regarding the schedule of events and guest speakers will be released in the coming months. Ready for a life-changing journey? Spend two weeks in Ghana with master drummer, dancer, and historian Azagunua, Vodzi O.J. Torgboh. This isn't just a trip; it's a transformative immersion into the rich, living traditions of West African expressive arts at the Kpedudo Institute of Performing Arts, Dzogadze (KIPAD). It is a chance to build deep connections and be part of a vibrant, welcoming community. The course is open to all, from music/dance/history/social/ religious/anthropology/linguistic/science/agriculture/textile and clothing/ students and scholars to anyone passionate about tourism, community building, women and children empowerment, ecosystem and African spiritual/traditional healing. KpedudoZa is festival that celebrate the rich music and culture of the Ewe people. The year 2026 Kpedudo Za it is set to take place in July 2016. Hosted by the founder Vodzi O.J. Torgboh, the event will bring together the chiefs and people of Dzogadze for a powerful display of community pride and artistic tradition.
The festival promises an immersive experience of traditional drumming, expressive dance, and ceremonial rituals that are integral to daily life in the region. KpedudoZa serves as a platform to honor esteemed elderly musicians and pass down indigenous knowledge to the next generation.
"We are proud to host this festival as a celebration of who we are," said Vodzi O.J. Torgboh. "It is a time for our Ewe communities to come together and share our cultural heritage with each other and with the world."
Members of the local community, as well as visitors from abroad, are invited to witness this unique cultural experience and participate in the festivities.
