KPEDUƉO ZA (FESTIVAL)

A Celebration of Ewe Heritage and Indigenous Knowledge!!!

The Kpedudo Za, an annual summer (June-July month) art festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of Dzogadze is instituted in 2018 by Azagunua, Vodzi O.J. Torgboh. This rich festival of Ewe cultural heritage serves as a dynamic platform to preserve, educate, and promote indigenous knowledge. Its primary aim is to honor traditional musicians, composers, and drummers, while motivating youth to perfect their talents in art, music, dance, and storytelling. Presented by Kpedudo Institute of Performing Arts, Dzogadze, the festival has become a significant event that attracts tourists, students, dignitaries, music performers, and researchers from both Ghana and abroad, and its vision is to empower Africa by valuing and celebrating its unique traditions and indigenous knowledge systems.

 Through the powerful mediums of art, music, dance, and storytelling, our vision is to celebrate an Africa that values and empowers its own epistemologies, aesthetics, and the ancestral wisdom that defines our identity. Kpedudo Za is dedicated to fostering a deeper appreciation for our unique cultural heritage, creating a future where indigenous traditions are not only remembered but are also an active and celebrated part of our national story.
